Frequently asked questions

Q: “Your work feels very mystical/spiritual. Is that part of your personal practice?”

Answer:

“I approach mysticism and spirituality as symbolic and historical languages. My focus is on how those systems function visually and culturally rather than as personal belief.”

Q: “Do you see yourself in the figures you depict?”

Answer:

“I’m interested in the figure as an archetypal and compositional element rather than as autobiography.”

Q: “Is there a transformative or initiatory intention behind your work?”

Answer:

“Any sense of transformation comes from the viewer’s engagement. I don’t prescribe experiences or meanings.”

Q: “What role does darkness play in your art?”

Answer:

“Darkness functions as contrast and depth. It allows other elements to become legible.”

Q: “Are you influenced by occult traditions?”

Answer:

“I’m influenced by the visual and symbolic history of esoteric traditions, much like other artists are influenced by religious or mythological art.”
